Emma is a Solicitor at Aylward Game Solicitors, specialising in Family Law matters. She is admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia, and is a current member of the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland.
Emma completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French and Ancient History at the University of Queensland. As part of her studies, she spent a semester abroad in Lyon, studying exclusively in French and trying as many different cheeses as she could find. Emma was drawn to a career in family law by a desire to help others and an interest in child protection.
During her studies, Emma spent much of her spare time (between classes and working part-time) volunteering with various organisations, including as a mentor with UQ’s flagship equity program, the Young Achievers program, which aims to reduce barriers to education for students from underrepresented groups and empower students to pursue their academic and careers goals. She also volunteered with an Asylum Seeker and Refugee Support Group and the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service (RAILS), assisting refugees and asylum seekers with visa applications and the Women’s Legal Service assisting the duty solicitor with domestic violence proceedings in the Ipswich Magistrates Courts.
Emma understands the emotional challenges that accompany family law matters, and endeavours to create a supportive and collaborative environment for clients. She strives to approach family law matters with compassion, to assist clients through what can be a emotional process.
Aylward Game Solicitors comprise a powerhouse team of Brisbane Lawyers and supporting staff that are committed to the traditionally practiced values of the legal profession.
